Ryan is in surgery now.

I just said "see ya later" to him at 12:10 Central.

He is totally at peace with whatever outcome we have today. I am as well.

We read Psalm 86 while waiting for him to go back. That is my favorite "trench" psalm. Every time I feel pressed down or about to be destroyed, I read that and I remember that my God goes before me (us) and is my (our) Great Defender. We surrender ourselves fully and completely to His will.

And if our God is for us - then who could ever stop us?

And if our God is with us - then what could stand against us?

  10. "Whom Shall I Fear (God Of Angel Armies)"

You hear me when I call
    You are my morning song
    Though darkness fills the night
    It cannot hide the light

    Whom shall I fear

    You crush the enemy
    Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
    Though troubles linger still

    Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind me

    The God of angel armies
    Is always by my side

    The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine

    The God of angel armies
    Is always by my side

My strength is in Your name
    For You alone can save
    You will deliver me
    Yours is the victory

    Whom shall I fear
    Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind me

    The God of angel armies
    Is always by my side

    The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine

    The God of angel armies
    Is always by my side

And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I'm holding on to Your promises

    You are faithful
    You are faithful
    You are faithful

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind me

    The God of angel armies
    Is always by my side

    The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine

    The God of angel armies
    Is always by my side

    The God of angel armies
    is always by my side

  14. You do not know me, and I do not know you. But I was led to this blog through a friend on facebook. Cancer is a very, very scary diagnosis. As a registered nurse with experience working a surgical/oncology floor, I have seen doctors enter many patient rooms giving them the official word... cancer. It is incredibly heartbreaking to see these people just break down afterwards. I realize the seriousness of your circumstances. Your story is very touching.
But I would also like to offer help and encouragement, if you don't mind. A diagnostic lap is a relatively simple procedure as long as everything goes well. It is very rare that anything doesn't go well. But you are right, there is always the possibility of an open procedure. I pray that this one goes well and will continue to follow your story.
